Content is King

Original content is a key part of search engine optimisation. Whether you’re adding news stories or case studies, or offering advice and knowledge via a regular blog, demonstrating that your website is informative and active can really help with generating good positioning on search engines. It’s also, of course, a great way to build trust and engagement from users of your site.

One of the big projects I’ve been working on in the past few months has just been launched. I’ve been part of a writing group preparing content for Gumtree for a new cars hub they’ve developed. It’s been a great learning experience and it’s nice to see the reviews and advice articles I’ve written now live on the site. This is a great example of how information and advice can be used to support a wider aim of promoting cars available for sale in the new hub https://www.gumtree.com/info/cars.

As an experienced marketer with a background in PR, I really value the importance of telling a good story. When using that content on your website, there are a few tips that can really help you stand out.

Not sure where to start with writing your own SEO friendly content? I put together a blog post on this area last year which will give you some useful pointers. Check-out how to write search engine friendly blog posts.

As part of my service, I regularly write news articles and blog content for a wide range of businesses. If you’d like any help or support, please drop me a line at rebecca@newviewmarketing.co.uk.
